Turn Right in 500 Feet... Recalculating...
Have you ever noticed that your GPS rarely shows you the entire trip?
It tells you the next turn. Then after you make that turn, it gives you the next one. If you miss a turn, it doesn't panic. It simply says, "Recalculating."
I've been thinking about that lately because furniture flipping feels a lot like that right now.
The market has changed. Marketing has changed. Technology has changed. Many flippers—especially beginners—feel overwhelmed trying to figure out what they should do next.
The truth is, we often want a complete roadmap before we take action. We want to know exactly how things will work out before we buy the furniture, create the listing, launch the business, or try something new.
But life rarely works that way.
Over the years I've discovered that God often guides us much like a GPS. He doesn't always show us the entire route. More often, He gives us enough direction for the next step.
And sometimes that direction comes through people.
Back when I used to teach discipleship classes at my church, I often referred to that as needing "someone with skin on."
→ Someone who can encourage us.
→ Someone who can answer a question.
→ Someone who has traveled a few more miles down the road than we have.
Sometimes we're praying for a sign while overlooking the people God has already placed in our path.
That's one reason I value community so much. None of us were meant to figure everything out alone.
If you're feeling stuck in your furniture flipping journey, don't wait until you have every answer. Take the next step, ask for help when you need it, and trust that God can guide you one mile (or piece of furniture) at a time.
