Not long ago I showed you some Furniture Flips by Sandra Amigo and now I have a couple more for you… Sometimes you like the “before” but then you see the “after” and you’re like… “WHOA!” This is that time. Sandra is a FAB FLIPPER! Here is the before: Sandra told me, “I also made my own version of the various brands of waxes I’ve seen displayed on blogs: wood wax (the one used on floors) with my beloved walnut wood stain. I recently bought metallic wax patinas: gold, silver, and copper for finishing touches.” Here are the afters: “I have transferred images in quite a number of projects with the mod podge method and with the freezer paper method (I also used the shiny paper that’s left when you peel stickers) It’s so fun!” The embellishment on the top makes this piece extraordinary. November Furniture Flippin Contest {Love My DIY Home}

November’s Fab Furniture Flippin Contest – Take a Seat!

Once again I have entered a furniture flippin contest. November’s Fab Furniture Flippin Contest challenge is called “Take A Seat” sponsored by Minted. Each contestant was given free fabric from Minted to complete the project. Minted fabrics are designed by independent artists who design a pattern and then enter it into Minted’s ongoing design competitions. Designers submit, and the Minted community votes to tell them what to bring to market. You can check it all out here if you’re an artist or would like to vote. I chose the fabric Herringbone Incomplete by Lehan Veenker for the chair and pillow and Arrowhead by Paper Dahlia for the accessories. I wanted to put together a color scheme that would go with the desk I already had in my guest room. The desk was my submission in the September Fab Furniture Flippin Contest. Dresser Turned TV Stand

 It is a new day. I woke at 4:45 this morning and couldn’t turn my brain off. As always my mom pops in my mind and since the stress of her dire condition is ever present, I couldn’t get back to sleep. At least it wasn’t like yesterday. I woke at 2am and didn’t go back to sleep until 6:30 and then it was only for 45 minutes. I had to go to work that morning and by the time I got to the hospital at 2:15 that afternoon, I was dragging. Fortunately they have a nice family lounge and I took a few zzz’s listening to music while Jillian and Taylor continued their vigil.
