Jewelry Armoire Update – OFMP & Modern Masters to the Rescue!

Jewelry Armoire Update – OFMP & Modern Masters to the Rescue!

#sponsored   Mom's Jewelry Armoire I've had my mom's jewelry armoire since she passed nearly 3 years ago in my walk-in closet, holding all of my essential oils and all the accessories. Yes, I have that many. What can I say. I love my oils!   It needed a change and I wanted to play with some of the many options we have these days for updating our furniture. So out came the Old Fashioned Milk Paint and an IOD Transfer.   Here is the before - Meet Nancy (before she was beautiful)       I named her Nancy after my fave aunt and she was the first one I called to let the sisters know my mom had gone on to Glory. I'll think of the both of them when I see it. Sentimental? Yes.     Supply List (Affiliate Links are Continue reading

Coffee Table Comes Alive – An OFMP Update

Coffee Table Comes Alive – An OFMP Update

#sponsored post   Once in a while my DH will surprise me and bring home a piece of furniture. He found a little coffee table at a garage sale that had seen better days and brought it home to be revived. It always amazes me how a piece can be "worthless" in someone's eyes, but then after a bit of redesign or refinishing it becomes a highly sought after piece of art.       OFMP generiously provided the (aff links) Lexington and Tavern Green milk paint, along with the Extra Bond for my project. They are a great company to work with, and its CEO, Ann, is a very gracious lady. Her customer service is above reproach and she is always willing to help with project advice.   LIST OF SUPPLIES (affiliate links):   Soy Gel Stripper by Blue Bear Metal Continue reading

Ethan Allen Coffee Table Stars in “The Taming of the Shrew”

#sponsored post It looked like an easy flip...   Have you ever had a DIY project that you just wanted to throw out the window, chop it up with an ax and then burn it to make sure it was totally eradicated from your memory?   Beware of the "easy" ones... There's a little consignment shop about 45 minutes from us that we go to occasionally to look for furniture to flip. The prices are reasonable, usually, so it's worth the trip. Of course visiting their other little shops and burger joint doesn't hurt the experience either. We found an Ethan Allen coffee table that looked like an easy flip, so we grabbed it and brought it home. (It's the "EASY" ones you need to watch out for.)   DH found one similar online at Etsy - Continue reading

Antique Side Table Updated with OFMP – An Empire Case Goods Co. Antique

Antique Side Table Updated with OFMP – An Empire Case Goods Co. Antique

This is a Sponsored Post   This summer at auction I found a sweet little antique bedroom side table from the Empire Case Goods Company.     I immediately knew it was a great find and fought till I won it. It was a bit pricey, but totally worth it. Pricey for me might not mean the same thing to others...   Upon a bit of research, I found the manufacturer of this side table, the Empire Case Goods Co., listed in a 620 page library book of Jamestown, New York 1915-1916 Town Directory. From what I've read elsewhere, the company was formed in 1912.     One source said Empire burned to the ground in 1935 but remained in business, eventually leaving Jamestown in the early 1950s.   This side table was sold by the Donath Furniture Continue reading
