I just had a workshop week for my furniture flipping friends called “Stop The Scrollers.” Every few weeks I open up my ESCAPE ROOM and run a challenge or workshops. I call it the ESCAPE ROOM because sometimes we as entrepreneurs need to take a moment and evaluate, learn, or just escape the work at home stressors. Have you tried dry brushing? Sometimes a little tweek to your redesign plan can grab attention and set your piece apart from the hundreds advertised online. The Monster Selfie

A friend gave me an old doll’s high chair that was in a house she was renovating, so I redesigned it for my granddaughter and then created a matching picture. The little Monster Selfie print came from Papaya Graphics. I started with a 12 x 12 canvas, spray painted it coral, added the print by gluing it down with Mod Podge and then added scrapbooking stickers I bought a bazillion years ago at a dollar store. I did the same with the high chair. Cleaned, sanded spray painted with Rustoleum 3x Painter’s Touch coral added scrapbooking stickers Not every project required hours and hours of prep and painting. Dye Stain, Java Gel & Water-based Stain Comparison

Adding a Bit of Pizazz I have a lot to share with you today – and I’m using several different products and several different methods and techniques to try them out and let you know what I’ve learned or discovered. NOTE: Most products listed are affiliate links. So here we go. First up: Let’s look at the differences between three different General Finishes stains: Java Gel (my personal favorite), regular water-based stain, and dye stains. If you’ve not used General Finishes dye stains, order some and check them out. They are water-based and super easy to work with. Farm Table Turns Artsy

WARNING: You will either hate or love this project… I stepped outside of my comfort zone and did a fun project with no rules, no restraints and just plain old fun as my guide. Here is the almost before – the legs are painted already, but you get the idea…they originally matched the dining tables Perth with the same blonde wood. I tend to be very conservative in every area of my life but for this project – NOT!
